Monthly remittance limits

The Bank sets a limit for currency conversion/purchase transactions from foreign currency to Indonesian Rupiah conducted through the DBS digibank application at the equivalent of USD 100,000 per month per customer. This limit covers transactions across all channels owned by the Bank for the purchase of foreign currency (including but not limited to: branch offices, the DBS digibank application, and others).

Amendment or corrections to transactions

Remittance transactions that have been sent cannot be canceled or amended unless the recipient bank returns the funds due to incorrect transaction data. In such cases, the Bank will contact the customer to confirm the matter.If the customer cannot be reached within a certain period set by the Bank’s policy, or if the customer instructs the Bank to cancel the transaction, the Bank will return the funds to the customer’s account at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of refund. Transfer fees already charged are non-refundable, and if an amendment is made, the customer will be charged amendment fees as stated in the fee table.

Customer verification requirements

The Bank will contact the customer for verification if required for the remittance transaction. If the Bank is unable to reach the customer, or if the customer refuses to provide the required information, the Bank will not be able to proceed with the foreign currency transfer transaction.

Regulation on using Rupiah within the territory of Indonesia

In accordance with Bank Indonesia regulations regarding the Obligation to Use Rupiah in the Territory of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI), all transactions within Indonesia must use Rupiah. If the customer still wishes to conduct transactions in foreign currency for the purpose of remittance transfers, the customer is required to state the purpose of the transactions.

What's included in the free-fee and same-day services?

Free transfer fees are available to more than 25 destination countries (including the United States, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Eurozone countries) for the following currencies:

For the above currency combinations, funds can be received on the same day, provided they are sent before the cut-off time for each currency. Some receiving banks may charge fees for accepting foreign currency in accordance with their own policies.

Can I send funds to countries other than the 25+ listed?

Yes. You can send funds to over 80 other countries via the DBS digibank app using the regular transfer channel (outside of the Zero Fees Remittance service). Standard fees and processing times (not same-day) will apply for this regular channel.

What information do I need to prepare for a Remittance?

What are IBAN and SWIFT codes?

An IBAN (International Bank Account Number) is a standard for bank account numbering, commonly used in European countries. You can obtain this code from the beneficiary’s bank or directly from the recipient.A SWIFT code is used to identify banks worldwide that are part of the Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication. It is also known as a Bank Identifier Code (BIC) and consists of 8 to 11 characters. You can find the SWIFT code required for an overseas transfer by clicking “Find SWIFT Code” on the screen when filling in the transfer recipient’s details.

How do I check the status of an international transfer?

You can check your remittance transfer status as follows:

Select “Transfer Valas” in the main menu of your DBS digibank app.

Tap “Transfer History” on the screen.

You can also track your transfer status through notifications sent to your registered email address.

What happens if my international transfer fails?

If your overseas transfer fails, the Bank will return the processed funds to your account at the prevailing exchange rate at the time of refund. An overseas transfer may fail for several reasons, including:

Incomplete or incorrect recipient details.

Failure to provide additional required information from the sender.

What if I send funds to the wrong account number?

If this happens, please contact the recipient’s bank or call our DBSI Customer Centre at 0804 1500 327 or +6221 298 52888 (from outside Indonesia). We will make our best effort to contact the recipient’s bank to return the processed funds.
