PT Bank DBS Indonesia customers could purchase this product by accessing product information on the Bank's website. Click Apply Now to be redirected to PT Chubb General Indonesia landing page. You may complete required information and make payment. E-Policy will be sent to your email once purchased complete.

Could I be able to purchase travel insurance at the time I arrive at destination place?

I am going to the destination place to study, work or stay there. Can I purchase travel insurance policy?

No. This travel insurance policy cannot be used for coverage of a stay in the destination country, you can purchase policy for one way single trip by choosing premium according to estimate days of travel from your original place to airport at your destination place. Coverage shall terminate on the earlier of the following:

12.00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time on the expiry date of the Period of Insurance specified in the Certificate of Insurance; or

for domestic trip: three (5) hours after your arrival at the destination airport.

for overseas trip: the time you leave the airport at the destination country.

My family and I will be traveling but I have to return earlier. Can I still enroll under “Family” Plan?

What is the eligibility under this travel insurance?

Insured Person and husband/ wife of insured person must be an Indonesian, Indonesian permanent resident, or holder of a valid (issued by the authorities in Indonesia) work permit, temporary or permanent stay permit, long term social visit pass, or student pass, and be at least eighteen (18) years of age up to eighty five (85) years of age on the effective date and/or upon renewal;

the Child(ren) must be an Indonesian, Indonesian Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid (issued by the authorities in Indonesia) temporary or permanent stay permit or student pass; at least fourteen (14) days of age and not more than eighteen (18) years old (or twenty-three (23) years old if studying full-time in a recognized tertiary institution) on the effective date; unmarried; and unemployed.

I am pregnant. Will I be covered for any pregnancy-related matters while I am overseas?

What is the meaning of Pre-existing Condition(s)?

Pre-existing Condition(s) means any condition which you have reasonable knowledge of, in the twelve (12) months prior to the effective date of policy. You are considered to have reasonable knowledge of a pre-existing condition where the condition is one for which:

You have received or are receiving medical treatment, diagnosis, consultation or prescribed drugs; or

medical advice, diagnosis, care or treatment was recommended by a Physician; or

clear and distinct symptoms are or were evident; or

its existence would have been apparent to a reasonable person in the circumstances.

Do I need to undergo a medical examination to apply for Smart Travel Shield?

Can I pay additional premium to cover the Existing Condition(s)?

Is dental expense covered under the policy?

Dental expense is covered by the policy only for the emergency dental treatment as a direct result of accident to sound natural teeth occurring during the period of insurance and the treatment must be given by a dentist. This benefit is applicable only when you are overseas.

If government authorities confiscate my belongings including but not limited to wood carvings and stuffed animals, is such event covered by policy?

Can baggage benefit amount be increased?

Is a video camera (or any other item) on hire during the trip covered?

What happens if the carrier “temporarily” misplaces all baggage for more than six (6) hours?

Policy cover baggage delay, Chubb will pay you the relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule for every full six (6) consecutive hours of delay, up to the maximum sum insured specified in the Benefit Schedule. For domestic journey, baggage delay upon returning to your home on a return journey is excluded by policy.

I am unable to travel due to I have to be hospitalized as a direct result from an accident occurred 7 days prior to my departure date. Am i covered for the cancellation of my flight ticket and hotel accommodation costs?

Your Death;

You are sustaining Bodily Injury or becoming ill, which in the opinion of a Physician causes You to be unfit to travel on a Scheduled Departure Date;

The death of Your Family Member or Travel Companion before the Scheduled Departure Date;

Bodily Injury or illness of Your Family Member or Travel Companion necessitating him/her to be Confined to a Hospital;

You or Your Travel Companion are required to be in Compulsory Quarantine on order by treating Physician only, or jury service, or are subpoenaed or hijacked;

Cancellation of scheduled Common Carrier services consequent upon Strike, Riot or Civil Commotion which is beyond Your control and this must be supported by travel advice from relevant authority;

Your residence in Indonesia becoming uninhabitable following fire, storm or flood occurring such that Your presence is required on the premises on the Scheduled Departure Date;

due to Natural Disasters at the Destination place which prevent You from commencing the Journey and this must be supported by travel advice from relevant authority.

In this case you are covered under the specific cause of item b) above, if the accident is not a part of the event excluded under the policy and in the opinion of a physician causes you to be unfit to travel on a scheduled departure date.

Will I be covered if I cancel the trip because I have to work or my leave application rejected?

Not covered, the policy only covers trip cancellation if you are forced to cancel your journey as the direct and necessary result of Specified Causes as stated under travel cancellation benefit, subject to terms and conditions of the policy.

Will I be covered if I cancel the trip because I can’t get the entry visa on time?

Not covered, however at your request, Chubb can refund the premium paid by you only for single trip policy if your visa application was declined by consulate. You need to provide written evidence that the consulate had declined your visa application before your scheduled departure date.

If my residence in Indonesia is flooded that occurs 14 days before the commencement of the trip, is such event covered if I cancel the trip?

Coverage under travel cancellation benefit is applied if you are forced to cancel your journey as the direct and necessary result of any of the following Specified Causes occurring within sixty (60) days for event (b), within thirty (30) days for events (c) and (d) and within fourteen (14) days for events (e) to (h) before the Scheduled Departure Date.This coverage is effective only if the policy is purchased before you become aware of any circumstances which could lead to the disruption of your journey.In this case you are covered under the specific cause of item g) as stated under travel cancellation benefit, if the flood event causes your residence in Indonesia becoming uninhabitable so that your presence is required on the premises on the scheduled departure date, subject to terms and conditions of the policy.

Is Chubb registered with the consulates under the Schengen agreement?

Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland.

Do I need a travel insurance policy to apply for a Schengen Visa?

Yes, all Indonesian citizens who are travelling to the European countries under the Schengen agreement need a travel insurance policy as a part of the requirements for Schengen Visa application. Please note, not all countries in Europe are under the Schengen agreement. For example the UK and Ireland are not part of the Schengen Visa arrangements.

I am applying for a Schengen Visa and require travel insurance as part of my Schengen Visa application. Which policy do you recommend?

What is the minimum benefit amount for medical expenses that meets the Schengen Visa application requirements?

My Schengen Visa application was declined, and I am unable to travel, will Chubb refund the premium I have paid?

Yes, at your request, Chubb can refund the premium paid by you for single trip policy if your Visa Schengen application was declined by consulate. You need to provide written evidence that the consulate had declined your Visa Schengen application before your scheduled departure date. No premium refund for annual policy if your Visa Schengen application was declined by consulate.

Does this travel policy cover accidents that occur while skiing?

What activities are cover in the add-on benefits of “Adventure Sports”?

This Policy is extended to cover the activities below while You are on a Journey:

mountain biking;

trekking (including mountain trekking) up to three thousand (3000) metres above sea level;

hot air ballooning (must be a professionally organized with You as a passenger);

sandboarding;

zorbing;

parasailing;

paragliding;

safari;

on-piste skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, snow rafting, snow mobiling, glacier walking with a qualified guide;

ice skating on a commercially managed rink;

private white water rafting and canoeing down rapids for grade 1 to 3 only;

scuba diving no deeper than thirty (30) metres;

kite surfing;

water skiing, wakeboarding and wake skating (no jumping).

Additional ConditionThe covered adventurous activities undertaken by You:

are for leisure and non-competitive purposes;

is with a licensed operator for the jurisdiction it is operating in;

are adhering to all the safety and health instructions, guidelines and regulations.

May I cancel my policy?

You can cancel your policy, with the following conditions:

For single trip policy, you may cancel the policy at any time by giving written notice to Chubb. In the event the policy had already been issued by the time you give Chubb the cancellation notice, no refund of premium will be made to you.

For annual policy, you may cancel the policy at any time by giving seven (7) days’ written notice to Chubb provided no claim has arisen during the current period of insurance. In the event of such cancellation, Chubb will apply a short rate refund.

May Chubb cancel my policy?

Chubb can cancel your policy, with the following conditions:

For single trip policy, Chubb may cancel the policy at any time by giving you notice in writing delivered to you or mailed to your last address as shown in our records, if you have breached any laws or the terms and conditions of the policy. In the event of such cancellation, no refund of premium shall be made.

For annual policy, Chubb may cancel the policy at any time by giving seven (7) days’ notice in writing delivered to you or mailed to your last address as shown in our records stating when thereafter such cancellation shall be effective. In the event of such cancellation, Chubb will return promptly the pro-rata unearned portion of any premium actually paid by the you, after the deduction of administration and stamp duty cost. Such cancellation shall be without prejudice to any claim originating prior thereto.

Is there any deductible applied?

Am I covered on the way from my home to the airport or vice versa in Indonesia?

For one way trip, You are covered during the trip from your home to the airport destination. Whereas for round trip, You are covered during the trip from your home to the airport or vise versa in Indonesia.

is act of terrorism covered?

Policy covers any act of terrorism occurs during the period of insurance if a claim occurs under any Benefit covered of the policy, subject to terms and conditions of the policy. Please note that nuclear, chemical, biological terrorism is not covered under the policy.

Can I nominate a beneficiary to receive the benefits in the event of my death?

When can I receive the certificate of insurance and policy wording?

You will immediately receive a certificate of insurance and policy wording send by Chubb to your registered email address, after Chubb has received your premium payment.If you do not receive your certificate of insurance and policy wording, please contact our Customer Service.
