For Rupiah to foreign currency conversions, the Bank sets an accumulated transaction limit of up to the equivalent of USD 100,000 per month per customer, which covers all Bank channels (DBS digibank App and branches).​

Meanwhile, for conversions between foreign currencies (e.g., USD to SGD or EUR to USD), there is no monthly limit, with a maximum transaction limit of the equivalent of USD 100,000.​

If you do not yet have a Foreign Currency Account, you can create one first through the DBS digibank App by following these steps:​

  1. Select the "Foreign Currency Account" menu under Quick Links.​
  2. Tap "Okay, I want it!" after reading the information about the digibank Foreign Currency Account.​
  3. Your Foreign Currency Account will be processed for activation. Please wait a few minutes for the process to complete.​

To perform Foreign Currency Conversion, follow these steps:​

  1. Go to the Home screen of the DBS digibank App.​
  2. Select the "Transfer" menu.​
  3. Select "Foreign Currency Conversion."​
  4. Choose the source account (e.g., Rupiah Account).​
  5. Choose the destination account (Foreign Currency Account) and the destination currency (USD, SGD, EUR, and others). Foreign Currency Conversion is performed between your own accounts and does not require adding a recipient.​
  6. Enter the nominal amount to be converted.​
  7. Check the transaction exchange rate and conversion details.​
  8. Click "Continue" to complete the transaction.​

After your Foreign Currency Account is active and you have performed a Foreign Currency Conversion, you can link your Foreign Currency Account as the primary account on the 'Debit Card Settings' page.

Subsequently, your DBS Debit Card will be automatically linked and can be used for transactions in the available currencies.​

QRIS Cross-border feature on the DBS digibank App is currently available in Singapore (with NETS QR / SGQR), Thailand (with Thai QR Payment / PromptPay), and Malaysia (with DuitNow QR). The bank will continue to develop this feature so that it can be used in more countries.​

What is the maximum usage limit for the QRIS Cross-border feature the transaction fees?

Cross-border transactions are converted into Rupiah (IDR). The maximum limit for QRIS Cross-border separate with the domestic QRIS.​

QRIS Domestic:​

  • IDR 10 million per transaction.​
  • IDR 25 million per day.​

QRIS Cross-border:​

  • IDR 10 million per transaction.​
  • IDR 25 million per day.​

No additional fees are charged for QRIS Cross-border transactions. However, the exchange rate applied will follow the foreign exchange rate at the time of payment. Every Cross-Border QRIS transaction will debit funds from your Rupiah (IDR) source account.​
